iStoragePro Pocket II
8/31/10 by Shane Ross
I can say, without hesitation, that I recommend the iStoragePro Pocket II drive to anyone who wants a good portable drive that won't break the bank. It works with ProRes, is bus powered, has a decent footprint (not too big) and has a great self-contained carrying case for easy transport.

In Review: The iStoragePro iT8 SAS Expander
8/19/10 by Ned Soltz from Digital Video
You may not be familiar with iStoragePro, but chances are that you've encountered a system for they were the OEM. After some 20 years of manufacturing as OEM, parent company CI Design now produces a whole line of storage solutions ranging from single external drives to FireWire, eSata, SAS or fibre channel RAIDS.
I've had the opportunity to work with their iT8SAE iT8 SAS Expander storage unit and all I can say is "Wow, I'm impressed!"

"The Perfect Solution For Editors On The Go"
I must tell you from the get-go that I am a big fan of the G-Technology Drives and have always and continue to rate them as one of the top portable drives for video editors. However, this new kid on the block has lots of zip and makes an ideal addition to any editor that edits on the road, on airplanes or anywhere away from his home base.

ProVideoCoalition Review: iStoragePro iT2PKTV
5/16/2010 by Kevin P McAuliffe
The Pocket View drive from iStoragePro is a small, quiet, RAID capable drive that I would recommend to anyone looking to pick up a new drive.  Keep an eye on CI Design's iStoragePro line of drives.  They have some really great products that should not be overlooked, and the Pocket View is definitely one of them.

SecondChairVideo: How to instal Final Cut correctly

The iStoragePro Pocket 2.5 inch drive (iT1PKT) is a good choice for many given its form factor, triple connection interface, and decent pricing.  The drive is enclosed in a 2.5-inch enclosure, is bus-powered, fast, and includes an on/off switch, two FW800, and one USB2 ports, power and connection cables and is offered in 250GB to 500GB capacities. iStorage offers special NAB2010 pricing until the end of April. E mail the company to secure the pricing."

P3 Update Review: iStoragePro iT8SAE
02/01/2010 by David Hurd
The new iT8SAE cases are nice and quiet, and are working well so far. The best configuration that I found so far is to hook up each case to the ATTO R380 controller using a RAID 5 @512k, and then striping both cases (iT8SAE x 2) together in RAID zero @128k in the MAC OSX. Read is 761MB/sec and write is 1118 MB/sec.

01/18/2010 by Chris Holt
This aluminum shelled desktop drive has a 2TB capacity, a three-year limited  warranty, and the designation as the fastest desktop drive we've ever tested. The iT1 Dock  turned the fastest copy test times we've ever seen in an external hard  drive.

TweakTown Review: iStoragePro iT8SAE -The Best Performance Award!

After all of that, who could possibly have a bad thing to say about reaching over 700 MB/s in some tests? The case of the system is built very well...

CreativeCow Review: iStoragePro iT1PKT -This is definitely a Five COW rating.
12/03/2009 by Jerry Hofmann
Nice design, and good to see what was to me a new player in our market. Competition here is good for everybody I think, and the iStoragePro pocket drive performs admirably. I was amazed at how fast my laptop started up with this drive as it is startup disk, and it worked without a hitch. Boot times were a lot faster than the drive that was shipped with my 2008 MacBook Pro. Almost three times faster in fact...

Creative Mac Review: iStoragePro iT8MIS
12/2/2009 by Kevin McAuliffe
The iStoragePro iT8MIS took it like a pro. No dropped frames, and no problems on digitizing, and no problems on playback. At that point I started putting all kinds of media on the drive ranging from HDV back up to 10-bit Uncompressed 1080i HD, and the unit worked perfectly. In the couple of weeks that I have had it, I have had no problems, and I have to say, I was very, very happy with what I saw.

Macworld Review: iStoragePro iT1PKT72320
11/25/2009 by Chris Holt
The front of the iStoragePro Pocket aluminum enclosure is reminiscent of the Mac Pro trademark perforated front. The drive weighs roughly one and half pounds making it one of the bulkier portable drives on the market. You could fit this drive into your pants pocket...

MediaSmartServer: iStoragePro iT4ESA
10/27/2009 by Alex Kuretz
The iStoragePro iT4ESA storage enclosure is very attractive, has a high build quality and excellent performance. It also provides some design features that differentiate it a bit from other similar products that I have used. However these features, quality, performance and 3-year warranty do come at a price premium. I am very pleased with my experience with the iStoragePro enclosure and definitely recommend it for use with your Home Server.

Reelgrok Review: iStoragePro Pocket, iT1PKT
10/14/2009 by Scott Amendolare
On my desk is a miracle of modern technology.  Pure and simple.  It sits there cool and sleek, it is brushed aluminum casing perfectly complimenting the Dell Laptop next to it.  A single i LED emanates, winking knowingly, reminding this reviewer just how far storage solutions have come in such a short amount of time.

If you have data that is important to you, you should be taking steps to protect that data. Devices like the iStoragePro iT4UFER are a good, entry-level investment in RAID technology: it protects your precious data from all-too-common hard drive failure. And the fact that it is a portable, external unit means you can easily take your data with you if you shuffle between locations.
